A Place of Belonging
We recognize and appreciate everyone for who they are.
We show up every day when we actively listen with warmth and transparency to welcome each other and the communities we serve.
The way we hire, develop and advance our employees is fundamental to our commitment to create a place of belonging.
- U.S. Retail Workforce 71% female and 51.9% people from racial and ethnic minority groups
- 100% Pay Equity We’ve consistently achieved gender and race pay equity in the U.S. since 2018
- Representation Goals By 2025, our goal is at least 30% ethnic diversity at all corporate levels and at least 40% in all retail and manufacturing roles
- Elevated Standard of Accessibility 2030 We will design, test, and scale more inclusive standards in our stores to ensure greater accessibility in physical and digital Starbucks environments
- Uplift One Million Women & Girls in Origin Communities 2030 We have a responsibility to care for the people across the entire coffee supply chain, providing support to women and girls who farm globally
- Increasing Access to Mentorship In 2021, we launched our Inclusion & Diversity Mentorship Program and have welcomed nearly 1,400 partners
Our Progress
We are continuing to improve the partner experience so our partners can thrive – at work, individually and together. Core to this is ensuring that Starbucks is an inclusive, diverse, equitable and accessible company – a place where all are welcome and a place where our partners know they belong.
Human Rights Campaign
The ways we directly support our LGBTQIA2+ partners and community are critical in our journey to ensure we all have the opportunity to thrive at work and beyond. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) recognizes Starbucks for meeting the criteria to earn a 100% score on their Corporate Equality Index based on corporate policies and practices for LGBTQIA2+ for 12 years.
Disability Equality Index
For eight years, we’ve achieved a score of 100 on the Disability Equality Index (DEI). This progress was made possible with feedback from partners, our Disability Advocacy Network and council from accessibility experts at Disability:IN and American Association of People with Disabilities.
Partner Networks
For our people, by our people, Partner Networks create moments of connection that promote diversity, foster inclusion and contribute to our personal and professional success. Through our networks, we build communities of belonging and find opportunities to learn, celebrate, contribute and reflect on the diverse cultures, experiences and convictions that make us human.
