Something that stuck with me was at a recent tech talk that I attended here at Starbucks, ‘the person sweeping the floor should be the one designing the broom.’ And I think here at Starbucks we embody that and take that very seriously. To be able to understand what technology we’re creating to enable our stores, we need to be in the stores, in those roasting plants, in their shoes.
